POLICIES

At Le Griffon, our goal is to provide a quiet escape or perhaps a romantic getaway for our guests. We will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. To help ensure a very pleasant experience for everyone, we ask that all guests be respectful of each other and of the following policies while staying with us.

 

 


Check-In

Check-in time is between 3:00pm and 7:00pm daily. Variations may be accommodated by prior arrangement. Check-out is set at 11:00am, though late check-out may be available upon request. If you need to drop off luggage early on the day of your arrival or need us to store it for a brief period of time on the day of your departure, this can easily be arranged.


Reservations

We require a valid credit card number to secure all reservations. No payment will be processed in advance of your booking date (exception: stays of 5 nights or more and multiple bookings require a deposit of 50%). Full payment is due upon arrival. We accept Cash (in CAD$), Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.


Cancellation

Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly as we do not overbook. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room. For this reason we uphold a strict cancellation policy:

Should you cancel less than 7 days prior to your arrival date, a 50% cancellation fee, based on the entire reservation assessment, will be charged to the credit card provided to secure the booking. If you cancel within 72 hours of the arrival date, 100% of the entire reservation will be applied. Early departures and no-shows are regarded as cancellations. This policy applies to each room reserved and charges are subject to applicable taxes.

Reservations held over Canadian Holidays, Special Events, local Festivals, Conferences or reservations of two or more rooms at a time require 7 full days notice of cancellation prior to your arrival date or 100% of the reservation will be charged.

Breakfast

Room rates include double occupancy and a full breakfast. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the dining room from 7:30am to 9:30am daily. We appreciate it if you tell us approximately at what time you expect to have breakfast. Please advise of any food allergies or concerns, as we will try to accommodate your needs where possible.


Using the Guest Kitchen / Dining Room

Le Griffon is equipped with two full kitchens – one in the innkeepers’ quarters, and a second one reserved for guests. Guests are free to use the common guest kitchen/dining room at any time after the innkeepers have finished serving breakfast. Certain appliances are also available for guests to use (a refrigerator, a stove, an oven, a microwave, a toaster, and a coffeemaker). Please clean up immediately after every use. Because of life-threatening allergies in the innkeepers’ family, we ask that NO SEAFOOD and NO NUTS be consumed on the premises.


Evenings/Overnight

After 10:00pm, our clientele appreciates a climate conducive to a good night's rest. There is no cooking past 9pm so that cleanup can be done prior to quiet hours. Please refrain from talking in the hallways and staircases. For the safety and security of all our guests, only those registered with the B&B are allowed on the premises during quiet hours.


Smoking and Candle Burning

Due to the historic nature of our building, and for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, we do not allow smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, incense, or candle burning anywhere on the property. A $250 cleaning charge will apply to guests who smoke inside the building so that it can be returned to a non-smoking status.


Privacy

We will not use any information you provide us in a manner inconsistent with, or unworthy of the trust you place in us. Your personal information will not be shared with third parties.


Pets

We regret that we are not able to accommodate guest pets. The Innkeepers’ pets are confined to the owners’ quarters.
