Our Restaurant

Shediac has many fine restaurants serving succulent dishes to tempt your palate. A number of these are only a few minutes' walk from Le Griffon. Among these - just seven doors down - is our inviting bistro, Le Moque-Tortue.

A menu that reads like a novel. A Victorian decor that tells a story. Local delights that pay homage to our ancestors: lobster dishes, fresh seafood, beautiful soups, abundant chowder, and superb desserts. A well stocked cocktail bar & a great selection of local craft beer. Driven by a passion for good company and an appetite for wonderful food, our bistro is a bright & playful space.

When Alice finds herself in Wonderland, she discovers a world that is completely upside down. An absurd, enchanting, and elegant world. A world where even adults can play and have fun. Le Moque-Tortue is equipped with Eastern Canada's largest accessible board game collection and fantastic ESCAPE ROOMS!

Your Welcoming Hosts

Heather and Sébastien like to welcome their guests with gusto. Polymaths, they have studied in seven different disciplines at university (Canadian Studies, Music, Folklore, Ethnomusicology, Religious Studies, Anthropology, and Viola Performance/Pedagogy).

An Acadian from Cocagne, NB (ten minutes from Shédiac), Sébastien has been the Mayor of a town in Newfoundland (Witless Bay), an award-winning lecturer (Memorial University), an Action Canada fellow, an infantry reservist, and a stuntman. Heather is a professional musician and the owner of a school of music in Shédiac. She masters a number of musical instruments, including the viola, the violin, the piano, and the Highland bagpipes (which she never plays when guests are sleeping!).

They're the proud parents of three beautiful girls (Amélie, Évangéline, and Alice).
